What is a Profile?
A Profile is a powerful way to associate more than one set
of accounts or
assets by a number of selection criteria, essentially creating a custom
Grouping for use in creating Consolidated Client Statements, and to
address them as a group in any future reporting without having to
perform
the search, Selects or Deselects of assets and/or accounts that you did to
create the original Profile.
Once a profile has been created, you can reference it to create a Client
Consolidated Statement rather than selecting the positions individually
in Account Manager. As new positions are downloaded, they are scanned in
the background by our unique Profile Wizard to determine if any new
position
or account might be a candidate for an existing profile (household or
grouping)
that you have previously created. In addition, the cover page information you
create for the Profile is also stored with the Profile data.
You may create as many or as few Profiles as you desire. Accounts, Positions
and Assets may simultaneously be in multiple Profiles. The Profile Wizard will
track each new account and asset, or each position liquidation and add or delete
it to or from each of the Profiles in which it belongs.
For example: John Ballard - Individual Account at Pershing, may be a member of
a Profile that you have created to reflect the entire Ballard Household of
accounts,
a special husband and wife grouping, or some other special Profile with one or
more children or even seemingly unrelated accounts. You can associate across
client names, tax and account identifiers.
The Profile tool also enables you to create a Consolidated Statement by simply
selecting the Profile and running the report. A simple 2 step process!
This flexibility in ViewPoint provides you with a powerful tool for managing your
client's financial data in ways that reflect real world relationships
and you and
your client's reporting needs.
